Veghel | The Netherlands
A month ago I bought a Chevrolet 3100 panel van with exactly the right patina for my purpose. A commercial vehicle for advertising and transport. The former commercial vehicle of a funeral company from Texas is matt black with here and there an elephant skin, paint weathering and rust.
The body is good with only a few rust holes at the driver's door that can be repaired easily. Chassis is in good condition, engine and gearbox unknown, but loose and it starts.
To prepare the car for the Dutch registration, I want it to run well, the brakes must be functioning and I also want to replace the wiring and have everything working on 12 volts. After 3 weeks of hard work, the car is ready for Dutch registration and has already been given a custom exhaust and taillights. The taillights are built from the old reflectors and fit perfectly with the round rear end.
When the classic car is approved and has a license plate, it will get custom Frenched headlights, a sun visor and the car will be lowered and it will get custom rims. The custom frenched headlights, will not be the standard custom headlights but will get an extra industrial touch, curious? The plan is to have the car ready by the end of August so I can continue with the current projects.
